The Academic Success and Career Center (ASCC) offers a holistic approach to academic advising and career success. Students who are uncertain of a major or who are changing majors are assigned an academic advisor in the ASCC.
Our goals are to provide academic and career advising, mentoring that improves academic achievement and ensures persistence to graduation.
More than just a major, a degree at WSU is built with internships, service learning, undergraduate research, and more. The ASCC academic and career advisors can assist you in planning your academic, personal and career goals.
It is required that you meet with your academic advisor at least once every semester. This is a time where you will be able to discuss challenges you may be facing in your classes and life, and learn about tutoring options, internships, resources and opportunities you may not have been aware of, develop a class schedule, and form a one-on-one relationship with an academic professional.
Appointments with the ASCC academic/career advisors are available to help you:
- Plan a path to academic success
- Understand the curriculum, graduation requirements, and university and college policies and procedures
- Utilize the available resources and services on campus and in the community for academic and career development
