At Washington State University we believe that every student should have the resources and opportunities needed to reach their own full potential and to succeed in their chosen careers.

The ASCC recognizes that veterans military service offers valuable skills and experiences that can greatly benefit your pursuit of civilian employment and can also present unique challenges as you forge connections in a different environment.

One obstacle is translating specialized knowledge and experiences to a broader audience, as HR professionals and hiring managers often have limited understanding of how your unique skills can be applied outside of the military context. Furthermore, we recognize that stigma and discrimination can be experienced by many veterans. We aim to provide a supportive environment that helps combat stigmas, quickly demonstrate value & competitiveness for future positions and normalize the process of job search & employment up to and after graduation.

At the ASCC, we are committed to supporting you throughout this journey, providing resources, guidance, and a understanding of the unique aspects of military service in the civilian work environment.

Please consider the resources on this page or make an appointment with us to address your concerns, work through challenges, and strengthen your application materials.
