Unlock your Ph.D. Potential: McNair Scholars Program at WSU is currently accepting applications for 2024-25 cohort

Do you dream of earning your Ph.D.? The McNair Scholars Program has been preparing eligible Washington State University undergraduates for graduate school since 1999 and is currently recruiting eligible students who have at least 4-semesters left before graduation.

Participants receive:

  • Individualized support with graduate school applications, admissions assistance, financial coaching, and academic coaching.
  • Specialized coursework focused on research, writing, and skills for graduate school success.
  • Hands-on research experience with a faculty mentor and opportunities to present at academic conferences.
  • Opportunities to connect with a mentorship network of alumni and faculty mentors who provide valuable guidance and encouragement.

To be eligible for the McNair Scholars Program, an undergraduate student must:

  • Be an income-eligible student who is also a first-generation college student OR be a member of a group that is underrepresented in graduate education as defined for all McNair Programs
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
  • Have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA
