WSU Student Employee Competencies Evaluation Form
This evaluation form is created with the intent of opening channels of communication between student employees and their supervisors in impactful ways. Namely, 1) allowing students to process and connect their work duties and responsibilities to skills they will use in a future career as well as 2) providing supervisors with a consistent way of providing feedback to student employees.
As every supervisor, student employee, and student job on campus varies, supervisors are invited to edit and utilize this document in ways that cater to their specific needs. That being said, the form includes several skills or competencies that are regularly utilized by most employees and skills that are established by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as key skills students should be developing in order to prepare for a future career. These NACE competencies include 1) Career & Self-Development, 2) Communication, 3) Critical Thinking, 4) Equity & Inclusion, 5) Leadership, 6) Professionalism, 7) Teamwork, and 8) Technology. Several blank spaces are also provided if the supervisor determines that other skills being used in the workplace should also be evaluated.
