Operations & Logistics Related Organizations
The following is a short list of organizations that assist in research of the occupations in the Operations & Logistics community.
- Teamsters(link is external) – Union representing workers in many occupations, with considerable representation among workers in transportation, distribution and logistics. For example, Teamsters represent workers in car hauling, warehousing, and air and surface package and freight delivery (trucks, tankers, ships and trains.)
- International Longshore and Warehouse Union(link is external) – Has about 42,000 members in California, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Hawaii
- Boeing(link is external) – The world’s leading aerospace company, the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined, and one of the nation’s largest exporters
- Washington State Department of Transportation(link is external)
- Sound Transit(link is external) – Operates express buses, commuter rail and light rail in the Puget Sound region, carrying nearly 14 million riders a year
- Washington State Ferries(link is external) – Largest ferry system in the United States, operating 28 ferries among 20 ports of call in the Puget Sound. Employs 1,800 people and carries more than 26 million commuters, commercial users and tourists per year.
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence(link is external) – Tests and certifies repair and service professionals
