Career Services for Undocumented Students
The Academic Success & Career Center strives to stand up for and nurture our Coug family no matter their immigration status. Just getting into Washington State University is a large hurdle and we wish to help you be successful while here and after. Our career coaches can help you find jobs, design your resume, and approach how best to disclose or not disclose your status to an employer.

Disclosing Your Status to Employers
Employers will want to know your work authorization status within the US but it is your call to tell them and the ASCC can coach on when and how best to approach the topic during the hiring process. We can also work with you how to get a feel for an organization’s approach to undocumented students and see how best to approach working within the organization’s system to find the most support for your candidacy.
Work Experience Without Authorization: Gigs and Micro-Internships
Check on gig based sites to gain experience while also earning money. Most gigs and micro-internships work over a very short period of time and are decided at the beginning what funds will be allocated for the work. As gigs and micro-jobs become more and more accessible, the more chances you will have to earn funds and build your resume with references. We use Handshake and you can use it to find jobs and build your experience.
