ABOUT SCIP

SCIP’s mission is to enlighten, employ, and empower the next generation of global leaders, particularly those focused on STEM and business fields. We connect high-achieving, diverse talent with transformative corporate opportunities through mentorship, professional development, and exclusive internship placements. We believe in providing real-world experience through hands-on project work that has a lasting organizational impact.

We are actively seeking accomplished mid-level, senior, and executive professionals from corporate, industry, and nonprofit backgrounds who are ready to give back, contributing their expertise to mission-driven work that upskills communities, advances equity, and creates lasting impact at scale and scope.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

SCIP is seeking experienced Mobile Developers to architect and build the SCIP mobile companion application, extending our talent acquisition and e-commerce platform to iOS and Android devices. This is a high-visibility, estimated 3+ months digital transformation project requiring deep cross-platform expertise, native mobile architecture experience, and the ability to deliver production-ready, store-deployed applications at velocity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Architect and build a high-performance, cross-platform mobile application using React Native with TypeScript, targeting both iOS and Android from a single codebase
  • Develop native modules in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) for platform-specific functionality, including biometric authentication and platform-native features
  • Implement clean, maintainable architecture following MVVM, Clean Architecture, or Redux/Flux patterns with complex navigation flows and deep linking support
  • Ensure platform compliance with Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design standards
  • Manage the full App Store and Google Play deployment lifecycle — including build configuration, store listings, TestFlight/testing tracks, and submission processes
  • Optimize app performance for smooth 60/120fps experiences, including startup time, memory usage, image caching, and bundle size reduction
  • Lead mobile architecture decisions, establish engineering standards, and drive code review processes
  • Upskill internal team members through mentorship, documentation, and hands-on knowledge transfer

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 2+ years of professional mobile development experience with React Native in a corporate, startup, or nonprofit environment
  • Proficiency in TypeScript with working knowledge of Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) for native module development
  • Proven track record of deploying and maintaining at least 2 production apps on both the App Store and Google Play
  • Experience with mobile performance profiling tools (Flipper, Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler) is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate cross-functionally
  • GitHub portfolio or published app store links demonstrating production-grade mobile work required
  • Nonprofit technology experience is a plus

Commitment: Project-based engagement (estimated 3+ months, depending on scope) | High-visibility role | Remote-friendly | Unpaid (volunteer consulting/ pro-bono)
