Position: Optical Engineer
We are seeking a talented and hands-on Optical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of advanced optical systems used in high-performance metrology systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and optimize optical systems using geometrical optics and ray-tracing techniques
- Perform optical alignment, integration, and troubleshooting of complex opto-mechanical assemblies
- Specify, select, and evaluate lenses, beam splitters, detectors, and light sources
- Develop and maintain optical models and simulations to predict system performance
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers throughout product development
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of optical subsystems
- Document designs, procedures, and test results clearly and thoroughly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Strong background in geometrical optics and practical optical system design
- Hands-on experience with ray-tracing software (e.g., Zemax, FRED, or equivalent)
- Practical experience with optical alignment techniques and laboratory instrumentation
- Experience with opto-mechanical design and tolerancing
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
