Position Summary: Supervises members of the Unit Team performing case management activities for incarcerated residents. Oversees team activities related to resident case management, guidance, and counseling. Performs evaluations of residents to determine potential for participation in work and reentry programs. Reviews and approves recommendations related to parole plans and eligibility. Participates in staff related activities to include but not limited too: hiring, performance management and personnel actions for assigned employees.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Manages a caseload of assigned residents. Assists residents with adjustment to incarceration, program completion, rule compliance, release planning, and reintegration into the community. Utilizes and demonstrates proficiency in risk reduction skills including motivation interviewing and cognitive strategies.
- Meets with residents no less than monthly to address risk and needs areas and other significant issues. Increased emphasis should be placed on higher risk residents based on needs assessment including RDU evaluations, LSI-R scores, program treatment summaries, and other resident assessments.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in corrections and demonstrates proficiency in risk reduction skills including motivational interviewing and cognitive strategies.
