Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.
Compensation:
Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The Graduate Assistant for Campus Engagement will support the Office of Campus Engagement in enhancing the overall student experience through campus-wide programming, initiatives, and engagement opportunities. This position will assist professional staff with the planning, coordination, and execution of events and programs that contribute to a vibrant and connected campus community.
- The Graduate Assistant will help with a variety of operational and programmatic needs within the office, including event planning, logistics coordination, and event setup and breakdown for major campus traditions, programs, and engagement initiatives throughout the academic year. They will assist with the day-to-day functions of the office, provide support during large-scale campus events, and help ensure programs run smoothly and effectively.
- Additional responsibilities include assisting with marketing and outreach efforts, supporting student engagement initiatives, coordinating event logistics, and collaborating with campus partners to implement programs that promote involvement and campus spirit. This role provides hands-on experience in campus programming, event management, and student engagement within a dynamic higher education environment.
