SUMMARY:Writing & Revising Academic Work Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop focuses on interpreting writing assignments and "mapping out" possible responses. By identifying key tasks associated with writing assignments, students begin the writing process through a variety of brainstorming and outlining activities. This workshop supplies students with frameworks for interpreting assignments and allows students to formulate clear directions in their writing. Students look at techniques and strategies for addressing their papers at the sentence level. While grammar is discussed--mostly in terms of punctuation and common errors--we contextualize proofreading and editing within greater order issues (e.g. focus, organization, etc), as well as the drafting process. This workshop is provided by the Writing Center.
