UNIV 398: Internship Course

Did you know you can gain academic credit while participating in an internship experience? University-Wide (UNIV) 398 is an option for students from all majors to gain academic credit for their experiential learning activities at a business, government, or non-profit organization.

By enrolling in this course while on an internship, students go beyond the common experiences of an employee and integrate a directed, reflective, academic component to help develop personal, professional, and academic competencies.

General Information:

  • Grading: S/F
  • Credits: Variable credit 2 – 15 credits (credits must be confirmed in advance).
  • Course Delivery: This course is facilitated asynchronously through Canvas.
  • Note: Designed for currently enrolled undergraduate students who have secured an internship.

Initiate Enrollment in UNIV 398:

  1. Consult with your Academic Advisor about how UNIV 398 fits into your degree plan.
  2. Schedule a meeting with the Academic Success and Career Center (ASCC) Internship Coordinator to gain approval to enroll in the course. Your meeting will cover internship requirements for the course, general course expectations, and an overview of the academic assignments related to the course.
  3. Once all information is gathered by the Internship Coordinator, you will be enrolled in the appropriate number of credits.
