At Washington State University we believe that every student should have the resources and opportunities needed to reach their own full potential and to succeed in their chosen careers.

Welcome to the ASCC Workers Rights page, dedicated to providing resources for students learning what protections they have.

Workers rights:

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person’s race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.

Washington State Human Rights Commission – Information and forms for Washington States complaint submission for violations of anti-discrimination laws can be found here

Support and advocacy groups:

Washington State Labor Council, Immigrant and Worker Justice Toolkit – “A toolkit providing… workers, worker advocates and union leaders with the resources and support they need to create a just and fair future for immigrants in the U.S.”

United We Dream – “United We Dream is the largest immigrant youth-led community in the country. We create welcoming spaces for young people – regardless of immigration status – to support, engage, and empower them to make their voice heard and win!”

Paid Family and Medical Leave Benefits in Washington State – If you are seriously ill or caring for someone who is seriously ill learn more at paidleave.wa.gov or the Spanish language option paidleave.wa.gov/es/
