Calling all Cougs – we want to highlight you this upcoming National Intern Day!

What is National Intern Day?

Since 2017, the last Thursday of July has been celebrated as National Intern Day by companies and organizations across the U.S. It’s an exciting time to collectively recognize and celebrate interns!

While internships happen year-round, we know summer is a popular time for many Cougs to engage in this high impact practice. So, save the date this year – July 30, 2026 – and check out all the ways you to be highlighted!

Highlight your internship experience and be eligible for giveaways!

Talking about yourself isn’t always easy, we get it. But your internship journey deserves to be celebrated!

We’re launching our summer campaign to encourage Cougs to share their internship story ahead of National Intern Day. We invite you to participate in a variety of ways – choose the option that feels right for you! Whether you share your internship highlight through LinkedIn or our Academic Success and Career Center website – you’ll even be entered to win some fun Coug giveaways!

Let’s show the world what Cougs can do and inspire others to try an internship, too!

Sharing your experience on LinkedIn is a great way to build your professional brand and connect with your network. Give us a glimpse into your internship experience!

General guidelines

  • Create a LinkedIn post highlighting your internship experience. You can choose a format that best fits your style:
    • Share a photo(s) about your internship experience and tell us something you’re proud of!
    • Or, share a ‘Day in the Life of an Intern’ video – think TikTok/Reels style
  • Use #CougsIntern and #NationalInternDay in your post and share by August 6
  • Be sure that your company/employer is okay with any work-related content you post (ex. please don’t share any confidential or sensitive company information). When in doubt, check with your company’s social media policy or site supervisor.

We’re excited to hear about your experience. We invite you to share some general information about you, your internship, and of course- the highlights from your experience! We’ll help you showcase your achievements in a way that’s both authentic and brag-worthy through an intern feature on our website. Check out this sample highlight!
