Registration Now Open for WSU’s Virtual Career Expo

The Fall Career Expo will be held on Handshake’s new virtual platform. In order to accommodate more employees, we are spreading the fair out to a three-day event. Please check each individual event to see what employees will be attending that day. We will be hosting training sessions to familiarize our students, staff and visiting employers with this new platform any new updates will be included here or on the Career Expo page.

Our “Ask Me Anything Career Related” Initiative begins TODAY and will continue through the end of the semester, Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm.

Noah Sanchez Named SEOTY

Noah Sanchez, a student employee with Cougs Rise, was named Washington State University’s Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY).

Sanchez is pursuing a degree in Architectural Studies and also works as a resident advisor. “Noah is a tremendous employee who has not only embraced his role but has also elevated the expectations for any other student employee,” said Ray Acuna-Luna, Project Director of Cougs Rise.

Job and Internship Opportunities Now Online

The Academic Success and Career Center has resources available to you during this shift in operations that might be useful for those concerned about the current job market.

  • Attention students looking for internships or jobs in the current market! Find self reported updates from more than 800 companies who are hiring, laying off or have a current hiring freeze:
  • Students – you can access our ASCC website 24-7, with links to Handshake, our Job & Internship Search platform with hundreds of opportunities
  • Students – you can apply for short term, paid, remote micro-internship projects through Parker Dewey. These experiences can help students leverage projects into possible full-time opportunities
  • Students  – You can make Career Coaching Appointments on Handshake and get some 1-1 assistance from our trained staff to help navigate through this unusual circumstance–refocusing toward a lens of resiliency!

ASCC Holding Appointments via Zoom

The Academic Success and Career Center will remain open during the move to online classes with limited staff in office. We will be offering our services online in support of social distancing guidelines. Career Coaching appointments and Academic Advising appointments will now be held using Zoom. With the screen sharing technology present in the video conferencing software Zoom we can review your application documents and navigate resources together in real time so that we can achieve the same level of collaboration that we could in person. You will receive an email from Handshake or your advisor with information on how to dial in or join the virtual meeting.

Tutoring has also moved online, and you can access their services on our peer tutoring page.

During our drop-in hours of 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, students can still speak with an Academic Advisor by joining the following Zoom meeting: Connect with an Advisor via Zoom
