Academic Success and Career Center Cultivating Successful Scholars and Professionals

ASCC During the COVID-19 Closure

We've moved online. Academic advising, career-coaching, drop-ins, tutoring, and academic success coaching will now be held via Zoom.

The Academic Success and Career Center will continue providing services to students and alumni through a variety of online means. Until further notice, here is how we can help provide you with the same services as always during this difficult time. For up-to-date information on WSU’s policies and guidelines, please refer to the COVID-19 WSU page.

  • Career Coaching and Assessments

The Academic Success and Career Center is switching it’s drop-in meetings to be entirely online in support of social distancing guidelines. You will now schedule an appointment via Handshake for a future time and complete a Zoom appointment.  With the screen sharing technology present in the video conferencing software Zoom we can review your application documents and navigate resources together in real time so that we can achieve the same level of collaboration that we could in person.

  • Wellbeing Online

Wellbeing Online is dedicated to helping you develop skills that foster a happy, balanced life by taking a holistic approach to healthy living. We provide opportunities to learn about all 8 dimensions of wellbeing to help you identify multiple ways to improve your personal wellbeing.

  • Internet Capabilities

Attending online classes are important. We have heard from a few students that they are dealing with weak internet capabilities and are having difficulty attending classes and Zoom meetings. If you are in this situation, there are several companies that are offering discounts or free service to students affected by COVID-19. This previously linked article may be helpful.

We suggest checking with your local internet service providers to see what offers they are making available to students. Here are some that we found:

    • Spectrum – Offering Free internet for 60 days to college students
    • Centurylink – Suspending data usage limits for current customers
    • Sparklight – Offering unlimited data on all internet services
    • Verizon – Automatically appyling 15GB of high speed data for wireless customers from Mar 25 – Apr 30
